Charlie Hills is a Cardiff-based lighting designer who uses light to shape atmosphere, rhythm, and storytelling on stage. Working across plays and musicals, he creates designs that support narrative, define space, and elevate performance with clarity and intention.

Alongside theatre, Charlie designs for live events and one-off performances, adapting his approach to suit a wide range of spaces and production styles. He is also an experienced stage manager, known for his strong organisational skills, technical knowledge, and calm, dependable presence backstage. This dual perspective allows him to balance creative vision with practical delivery, supporting productions from both artistic and technical angles.

Passionate about new writing, Charlie thrives on collaboration and the development of original work. He is the resident lighting designer for Fish Don’t Matter Theatre and he is always keen to connect with new collaborators and explore future projects.
